PRESIDENT OF INDIA UNVEILS PORTRAIT OF SHRI ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE IN CENTRAL HALL OF PARLIAMENT

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, unveiled the portrait of former Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the Central Hall of Parliament today (February 12, 2019).

Speaking on the occasion, the President said that Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee will always be remembered as an Indian statesman.He was an example of dignity in public life and patient perseverance in adverse situations. The President said that as Member of Parliament, as Minister of External Affairs and finally as Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee left a distinguishing and lasting impression. National interest was paramount for him.

Among dignitaries present on the occasion were Vice President of India; Prime Minister of India; Speaker, Lok Sabha; and Leader of Opposition, Rajya Sabha.
